All About Us
District 15 Speakers’ Bureau is an entity within District 15 Toastmasters. Toastmasters is an International, not-for-profit organization that teaches its members public speaking and leadership skills. The bureau’s speakers are advanced members of these clubs within our district. They present their speeches in order to practice their craft, to advance further within Toastmasters and/or to gain professional speaking experience.
Because of Toastmasters’ non-profit status, our members cannot benefit monetarily for speaking engagements gained through the bureau. However, they may accept meals, small gifts of appreciation and/or travel expenses. They may also accept donations (in the form of a check) on behalf of their club and/or the district. Within their profiles, some speakers may also provide links to their personal Websites where they might offer professional speaking services. These Websites are not affiliated with the bureau, and speakers may charge for speaking engagements contracted through them.
A typical Toastmasters club is an inviting, non-pressure, and (mainly) self-governed group that meets weekly. Its members learn public speaking and leadership skills through experience, mentoring and gentle evaluation. You can learn more about Toastmasters or find a club near you at their Website at www.toastmasters.org. District 15 Toastmasters spans Eastern Oregon, southern Idaho, northeast Nevada, western Wyoming and all of Utah. You can learn more about District 15 Toastmasters through our Website at www.district15speaks.org.
For those wanting to learn more about Toastmasters, we invite you to visit the Toastmasters Website, or, better yet, visit your local Toastmasters club and see for yourself what we have to offer. For current members of District 15, we invite you to apply and join our speakers and/or bureau team.
